This is a very intellectual approach but it works. I have done it many times and also with clients and it's amazing how their perception changes. I love this method but have to admit it requires you to open your eyes and look at your life more consciously.

@geneanna I agree, this is completely ridiculous and it makes me angry that someone so esteemed could be making someone think that they have a choice to just turn off their grief like that. Bereavement is a process that needs to be allowed to run it's course. 'Tips' like this contribute to our increasingly narcissistic society, where we all have to deny the way we really feel. Grief is a natural process, repressing it is stupid.
