This is Sophie's second year doing the Grand Entry at the Lawton Rodeo. It is also my second year too. She was ROCK solid and amazing. Underneath me, she was calm as a cucumber and I really believe that she just wanted to show off like she was getting ready for a race. It's totally chaotic in that arena. Horses are EVERYWHERE...about 300 total in all, loud speakers, about 1000 troups cheering, cannons firing, flags flapping, major wind noise...every kind of chaos you could possibly imagine to make life difficult for a horse! REALLY DIFFICULT AND SCARY!!!. This is what a trusting relationship with horses can do for a horse and rider. Sophie is wearing a light contact bit in her mouth...she had her head the entire time... Funny thing is that her security blanket is the bit from her race days. You will see her head bobbing up and down ASKING ME TO PULL HARDER on her mouth.. One of these days she will get used to the fact that BITS don't control horses at least 95% of the time... I think next year...I'll go BITLESS! Great experience!!! EMOTIONAL FREEDOM STARTS ON THE TRAIL! And just like the bridge crossing... Bridge the gaps in your horsemanship...and I promise you will bridge the gaps in your life! BUFFALO MOON EXPEDITION LAUNCES in 21 days!
