The annual Cine/Spin extravaganza turns the tables on The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari as student DJs unleash a mesmerizing torrent of Teutonic tones aimed at the acutely angular sets of a silent horror film. This 1919 German Expressionist tale of mayhem and mind control has the mad Dr. Caligari sending his spellbound assassin off to do his dirty deeds. Renowned for its twisted design—rife with painted shadows, clipped perspective, and demented interior space—here the scenery echoes the delirium of that original Goth, Conrad Veidt, the somnambulistic stalker. Our undaunted DJs also train their beats on a few undisclosed shorts to further the hip hypnosis and then command your feet to follow. The BAM/PFA Student Committee joins the frayed frenzy with some captivating activities of their own design and a stunning array of refreshments. Expressionist yourself!
