Diver Dan was an early sixties children's show that ran as a series of seven-minute shorts. The program was filmed through an aquarium using puppet fish. The incredulous Diver Dan observes the talking fish, listening in on their conversations.

  • Just discovered this. Thanks! I was trying to describe this show to my 20 year old son. I'm so glad someone else appreciates this. Great childhood memories!

  • @mcrusader1 I'm really glad you found it. There are more episodes coming!

  • I just put a search for this and was so great tosee, i was only 4 or 5 when i use towatch this, tom e the graphics were so amazing, what a treat to " go back " to see Doc, Georgie Porgie, even the Barron! Miss Minerva was the prettist thing in the world! Thanks for putting it up!

  • @pooldude317 You're welcome. This show brings back a lot of early childhood memories for many people. Thank you for commenting :) -Michael

  • Loved this during Ray Rayner when I was a kid. Try and do this show with a smoking fish in our politically correct idiot society now and they'd throw the producers in jail. None of the modern shows are worth the air time they devote to them. Glad to hear there's a DVD out with these, I'll have to invest in it and Clutch Cargo.

  • @rhblakeman I agree. I get comments criticizing people who smoked back it the fifties and sixties. The point is, that is part of television history also. Thanks for commenting.

  • This was my very first favorite TV show back when I was just a toddler. I got the DVD not too long ago, yet still watch on YouTube occasionally. I just read that Allen Swift, who was the narrator and voiced many of the fish passed away on April 18, 2010, so I want to say THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES to him and this seemed like a good place to do so.

  • Priceless!! Thanks so much for posting these gems.

  • "Maybe I've been diving too long...!?" Priceless!

  • how fun to see this. My father, Leon Rhodes, was one of the directors of this show. I was a young adult at the time, but I still remember all the characters. Our family had fun watching these on video at my father's funeral in 2006. Around the TV were his grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching these for the first time. Thank you for keeping this alive.

  • I have not seen this for over 40 years!!! It's still great!

  • lol, it's not odd enough the fish talk but they have perfect command of the English language, some have accents and one can keep a cigarette lit under water. I haven't seen this in decades. Thanks. (ok, now it's right ;) )

  • thanks

  • I really thought I'd dreamed this! But there were over 100 episodes made. I thought it was a half-hour showl

He has no glass in his face mask!!!

  • Growing up as kid in N.J., this wasn't entertainment, this was reality. We were absolutely riveted. The commercials were about the Easy Bake Oven, Penney the Poodle, and Mr. Machine.
