Cinavia and Ps3 quick fix

Recently Ps3 have come out with this new update that automatically downloads and installs this program called "Cinavia" which protects against piracy movies by analyzing the sound of the movie that is playing and compares that to the original version to see if it matches and based on that it will allow or doesn't allow the ps3 or BRDvd players to play the movie you will get 2 most common messages 1: it will say it can't play the movie because of a copy right violation. 2: it will say the audio for this movie has been mute and it wont play any more sound just the picture it all depends. so based on this information i have made a short video of how i been watching movies on my ps3 and by passing the cinavia technology. The only way i been able to watch movies is to speed it up by x1.5 or higher cinavia can't pick up the sound at that speed and its not so bad once you get use to it at least for now until someone come out with another solution. UPDATE 04/23/2011. Hi again everyone it seems if you log out of PSN network you can play the movies without any problems hope it works for you all. UPDATE 05/11/2011. This might not be for everyone but if you get muted and you don't want to keep changing the date in the setting every 20 mins then try this every time you get muted press the home button and press it again it will un mute it but only for couple of seconds i wasn't going to put this info on here but i thought it might help find the solution to this idiotic Cinavia bullshit! UPDATE: JUL/16/11.. Ok, i think i have the perfect solution that is working for me by far without any problems what so ever i know this because i did this method with both ways and this way worked and downloading the movie and then watching it on ps3 didn't ok so here is how to watch any movies..ok go to your web browser on your ps3 and go to any site that lets you watch streaming movies the best one by far i think is LETMEWATCHTHIS.COM now there are other ones out there too but the reason i like this one is because each movies have many different versions so if one doesn't work or the quality isn't good you can try version 2,3,4 and so on i hope this method will work for you all and please leave a comment and let everyone know if this is working for you.UPDATE 09/15/2011 letmewatchthis.com no longer exists it has been changed to http://www.movie2k.to/

@polanco4life look here mr Sherlock hoes..lol.. streaming movies through internet from letmewatchthis is a fix and it's probably much better and faster and safe and no one should have an excuse for what if u don't have internet cus most likely u are downloading da movies 2 watch them so there for u need internet and why go through so much trouble downloading it when u can just turn on your ps3 go to web browser and go to a movie site and watch.. it's so easy cave man can do it..

@FinallyFinaleVevo In other words as long as the ripper strips meta data which is done in 95% of all videos before 2011, when people started thinking that sharing downloaded copies of videos was a good idea, the video will play fine.

Simply put, make sure you download a RIPPED version of the file. Check the Comments on places like Pirate bay.

I own all my movies on dvd. So I think it is dumb, never the less, I will not spend 8 hours downloading a 4gb movie file.

@alexsaeed8 Just so the world knows, the way copyright protection works, its either A) embedded in the file, or b) sony ps3 goes up on the net to check and see if the video is copyrighted.

The later is very very rare.

This copyright protection comes from digital downloads that are legal, but personal.

You get them with most new dvds and blurays.

Sony does not implement this on home videos, so any video that is ripped by someone who knows how to rip a video will work.

Look...Cinavia has to connect to the net like shazam and soundhound to compare the audio to the movies that it's blocking...the MOST SIMPLE solution is to go into your router and disallow net access for the ps3...if you have verizon FIOS and the wireless broadband router you can go right into the network settings and block it from there...I JUST did this and it worked...the ps3 can still access LAN which means movies on YOUR network work...but it can't talk to Cinavia online server

All you have to do is DISCONNECT the console from the internet BEFORE you play your movie.

If you've already played it change the name of the film.
