Segment 1 -- Saving the Kimani Grays

It's been more than a week since two plain clothes officers fatally shot 16-year-old Kimani Gray who, says the NYPD, pointed a gun at them on the streets of East Flatbush, and Mayor Bloomberg promises a full investigation. But, it won't share what the city might do to save the next Kimani. Brian's guests represent two Brooklyn organizations working to protect and transform the lives of at risk teens: Shanduke McPhatter, executive director of Gangstas Making Astronomical Community Changes (G.M.A.C.C.) and Nathaniel M. Quinn, head senior teacher and program team leader of Exalt Youth for teens in the juvenile justice system.

Segment 2 -- Tech Leaning Women

Lean in! It's what professional women have been hearing since Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg debuted her cri de coeur for the 21st century woman.
So how are New York City's tech women faring? Brian's guests: Jessica Lawrence, managing director of the 30-000-members strong New York Tech Meet-Up, and media entrepreneur Kelly Virella, one of two New York women to win $20,000 in seed money from the International Women's Media Foundation, for a digital news venture.

Segment 3 -- 100% Re-New-Able New York

This week's "Public Intellectual" segment, a regular look at the research affecting our lives, features Stanford University professor Mark Jacobson. He is lead author of a radical new plan to convert New York's energy grid to 100% renewable sources—no coal, gas, nuclear or oil—by 2050. That's right: only wind, water and solar. If that sounds too good to be true, and, in the state with the 3rd largest GDP in the country, take a listen. Jacobson is a professor in the department of civil and environmental engineering.

Segment 4 -- Cloudy Cash

Finally, Bitcoin, and what the rise of the controversial cyber currency means for banks, government and the economy with guests, Marc Hochstein and Erik Voorhees. Hochstein is executive editor of American Banker magazine and Voorhees directs marketing and communications at BitInstant.com, a New York-based Bitcoin payment processor.
