Nice to see Donnie and Gaynor, great bit of samba, the music is a lot slower than it was in the 80's, "Thank God". I first saw Donnie and Gaynor on the set of "Yanks".

@georgewu5 George, its a video, not a private lesson or group class. "You can rewind and playback as often as you want"! "You can rewind and playback as often as you want"! "You can rewind and playback as often as you want"!

@georgewu5 George, perhaps Donnie's video is aimed at students more experienced than yourself' whereas Corky's is aimed at beginners. As for Donnie's methods "aquired from the US", I find that a bit condescending as Donnie has always had his own method and unique style "copied by thousands". Donnie has always led from the front where the likes of Corky and Shirly Rich have followed. Corky runs a fabulous dance studio and aims his videos at his clientele wonderfully as a businessman he is.

@georgewu5 Try 14 years with a break! Keep up your sequence dancing George.

Donnie Burns is not like Corky Ballas who is a systematic teacher, Corky had a wonderful Video, " Simply Beautiful Latin" and " Dancing with Passion with Slavik", I acquired my knowledge from the basic counting" 2341 " from Bronze to gold level, systematically to understand the beauty of the International Latin. Donnie does not have a method, based on the way he aquired his dancing techniques from the U.S. years ago. He succeed to mingle his talent with the Latin teaching, especially the SNAP !

That explained why Donnie was the World Champion for 13 years ! Because he was not giving ! Very selfish dancer who did not want to share his talent with the rest of the world so he keeps them to his grave to be remembered as the greatest Latin Champion ! My experience with the Russian Champion Mr. Popov in Seattle was totally different. He taught me patiently. Slowly repeating one figure untill I understood the essence of the counting related to the steps before furthering ! George Wu, AIA

In 1991, I was taking lessons from the Canadian Champion Petersen, He taught 21 figurers in one hour, and expected the students to repeat them the following week. So I asked him if he could just teach one figure for one class. His answer, not jokingly on his face, was:" If I teach the students how to dance. They don't come back! " Donnie reminded me of my experience in Vancouver that the instructor showed the steps so fast that the students could not coordinate the counting ! YouTube Dancewu net
