A crowd of at least 1,000 people, many holding candles, attended a vigil Thursday for the Iraq War veteran who suffered a fractured skull during a clash between demonstrators and police. (Oct. 28)

Scot Olson is a true hero who had enough balls to go and fight a worthless war. This is how he's paid. Scott, sue Oakland police dept. for 10 billion dollars, I hope I'm on the jury.

@mordinvan I'm sure the cop will tell the investigators he was doing his job and didn't mean to hurt him. However, the young man should file a civil suit against the police for his injuries. I still can't believe that the police used that type of force on Americans who are protesting peacefully! I hope this young man gets better and receives at least a formal apology from the OPD and a very large settlement!

I'm more thinking the cop who threw the stun grenade into the crowd of people trying to help him needs to be brought up on a 1/2 dozen charges of assault, and lose his job.

What in God's name did this young man do to get a rubber bullet to the head! He does two tours in Iraq and comes home to get a bed in a US hospital? The police need to calm down before they really kill someone who is simply trying to protest!

Scott Olsen was at the forefront of the Oakland protesting movement where he suffered a serious injury by the Oakland police. This man deserves the highest respect and honor. Would be a great moment from Scott Olsen to heal from his injury then get back to protesting again united with the men and women who carried him to safety. It would be a tear moment.

Notice how the news anchor skirts around the issue saying 1) 'he got injured during the protest' 2) he got hit by a 'projectile'. All very vague. How about 1+2 = Scott Olsen got shot with a rubber bullet by the out-of-control Oakland cops
