  • Of course we enjoy what we do, we wouldn't be airsofting if we didn't have an interest in the military. The point is we're having fun too. Joining the military is a huge carreer move and life change, it's not for everyone. Some of us just want to play tactical games without the worry of dying or having to kill people, and still getting do do our day jobs. I've met real servicemen who play airsoft on their time off and love it as a sport, we're not mocking anyone.

  • thumbs up if you were here from Scouthedoggies Interview blog on facebook!

  • i can understand milsim, but going to the extent of fake helmets and body armour seems a little bit lame :P

  • I did FIBUA here in 1994, when I was in the Army. What a fantastic place. My section ended up sleeping in the sewers 'cause it started raining and the house we were in had no roof! The staff got there own back the next day by pissing into the sewer while we were running through it! I also remember a smoke grenade causing a fire in the block of flats. Very fond memories, thanks for posting this. I've served in NI, Bosnia and Iraq and I do not see these guys as mocking anyone.

  • Why not join and do it for real? - because even the army does "pretend" like this. Because you dont die for real in airsoft. Because we have day jobs and families to think about. In my case the army / marines wouldnt have me because of medical reasons when i was 20 - again at 22, same at 26. Now i have a family, i earn more than most on MOD pay do - and im not risking my life for it either.

But the main reason is... Airsoft is a hell of a lot of fun. <-- Thats basically it.

  • dumbass u get to go in choppers for airiel assult and in tanks lol

  • Each to thier own but this looks like a lot of shite to me I'm afraid. I found one of your bb grenades up there too pretty lame.

  • wow the last comments were a year ago... thats insane

  • Why would people pretend to shoot people? Isn't that rather... derranged? It's not a case of 'can't' join the military, because some airsofters seem pretty fit, and not a case of 'won't' as airsofters seem to enjoy shooting things - even if they are toys.

I think some people, not all, would find that a mockery to what they do, particually war veterans.

  • The problem with joining the real military is it's 24/7, and people tell you what to do. Plus, it's not a game, and you can't shoot or blow up your mates for fun. So wouldn't you rather be pretending, rather than playing with real guns?
