It is definitely an English phrase - But remember Australia is a former English colony. So yes, we do say "Ta" and it's because of our British roots.

Being a pom from the north of England I was under the impression 'tah', as a replacement for 'thanks', was chiefly British

Great stuff, rare to see him open up like this. Get the feeling Gus wouldn`t mind putting his right fist into Ray Hadley`s mouth. Neither would I. The unwritten rule is you can be a bigmouth if you`ve played the game at any level. If you haven`t then take a leaf out of Rabbits book. Andrew Voss also take note. Don`t confuse annoying with entertaining.
