Expanding your business IS a male fantasy, the fantasy of having more and more, controlling more and more...of being a king, really. It doesn't create any net jobs, though it will lead to more "efficient" jobs surviving, which is part of the problem - the market ONLY values efficiency and not other abstracts that humans value, like being your own boss and being able to work at your own pace - these things are NOT AT ALL valued by the free market.
