An a cappella cover of the traditional spiritual. Arrangement is by Philip Lawson for The King's Singers. This rendition was inspired by the Alison Krauss rendition from the soundtrack of the movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" by the Coen Brothers.

All parts sung by Brandon Toy and Nicholas Helms.

  • I'm such a choir nerd it's not even funny so finding this channel is so amazing to me. I sang this son my senior year but of course y'all blew our performance out of the water. AMAZING!. I love you guys .

  • @KittnzNChz Glad you like my channel. What does your screen name mean? Kittens and cheese? That sounds delicious. Sorry I've been SUPER busy lately, so I haven't been able to post any videos recently, but I promise there are more on their way!

  • Can you do me a favor a please? (or anyone who is reading my message now) can you share me a copy of this arrangement please? i badly need it! please?? You can PM me.. thank you so much!

  • @RicAbapo This is the King's Singers arrangement. You can get it here kingssingers[dot]com/p/song-sheets/down-to-the-river-to-pray/ss12.html

  • Can you do a cover of Joshua Fit the Battle?

  • @JakeThePeg93 I might actually! There is an arrangement by The Swingle Singers that I absolutely love.

  • Great work..... you keep moving your head around all you want !!

  • @MMprotopaintball20 haha. sorry! it is my personal conviction that singing is about movement and energy inflected aurally, and one of the best methods to assimilate that energy into sound is through the incorporation of physical movement. though i could have probably planted my feet better, i was mainly concentrating on not messing up and singing the wrong words. hahaha.
