Yep, those old film reels used to break. And good 'ol Channel 32 would have up to 30 seconds of dead, black air. Then, finally... a title card. Ah, the good old days.. :-)

preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s
and early 80s, primarily) recorded off of any and all Chicago TV channels;
