  • Please tell me they're legal in america to keep as pets! Are they?

  • Why on Earth would you want a wild Owl for a pet?. Captive birds are never the same as wild birds and take a lot of looking after, they are not a toy or status symbol and need a lot of attention.

To watch a wild Barn Owl hunting at dawn or dusk is a very magical and uplifting sight to see, there really is no need to keep one as a pet as they are wild birds and belong in the wild.

  • I think there may be one of these birds living near my house. I hear this screeching sound every night. I wish I could spot the bird but every time I run out to see it, its nowhere to be found..

  • @ashleystow Lame

  • @guthixshowdown Well yes they are legal to keep as pets in America IF you have a falconry license, or a some sort of caretaker license, and you request a permit from the goverment to allow you to keep them in captivity. If they give you permission than feel free to get the owl as a pet. OH and each owl requires a new permit to keep, so it isn't universal to all owls.
