Good form

There are a large number of people who would have learned kata from Tamano Sensei who is still very active in Shorei-kan today. Those that learned from Master Toguchi would be even more fortunate since he passed away sometime around 1999.

Entitled to your opinion, of course. Interesting...you have no videos up. Thanks for stopping by, anyway. Looking forward to seeing what you might post in the future.

That "is" Shoreikan's kata Dai Ichi, the very first kata taught in that house Goju Ryu. When performed by Shoreikan people the blocks are usually quicker, more circular, and softer... and there are also kiais on the chest punches just after the head blocks. As performed in this video it doesn't look Goju Ryu at all...

In my humble opinion I thought Glimmermans kata was performed quite well indeed. I am a former active student of the Honbu Dojo of peekskill in NY and gekisai dai ichi was in fact the first kata taught there. As of this post when class resumes after the holidays I hope to resume along with it. Thanks for sharing it...
