If you've ever read many of the comments in lament of what now is to pass for music since the day the music actually died, just 1 of the reasons for modern stuff sounding so much of a piece has to do with attempting to add meaning and originality through use of an affected style with over much nuance and just plain c-r-r-r-a-a-p overdone embellishments.
