Scouse band the Remo Four after losing doss singer Tommy Quickly in 1965 , soon enjoyed success in Germany with a trio of top singles including this Kink-ish number from 1966. Very little success in the UK , but they did some great covers of Tony Clarkes " Ain't love good ,ain't love proud ", Brother Jack McDuffs " Rock Candy" and the best version of " Peter Gunn" I've ever heard. You tube search for their performances on "Beat Club" Top notch.

  • one of my all time faves!

  • Yeah - this one kicks off one of those excellent "Circus Days" comps. I think I've got a demo somewhere of the band putting together the title track for the "Wonderwall" movie which George Harrison wrote the soundtrack for.
