This vid was shot in the San Gabriel mountains, where I began taking my daughter backpacking at age 3. Now 6 years later, she's sharing some of the things she's learned, to help kids her age, to get started and see what their all missing out on. Some starting tips. www.campmor.com huge selection & tax free. R.E.I. stores have it all, buy gear, earn $ for more with membership. www.cheaperthandirt.com another good site. www.hughmcmanners.com and your local library has books on gear, places to go, survival, you name it! Get out there and leave the phone at home. No signal in the canyon any way. Give your kids the best gift ever, "your time"!
Excellent! So cool, she's so smart (and sweet) :-) !!!! Great that you took her on your hikes and teached her Alan. Hope to do the same now with my grandson !

@lostinthewoods357 thanks. the 100 hikes in the san gabriels-trails of the angeles, has so much great info on the range and many great pics. you can entertain your kids from old enough to walk, to the time they no longer find you "cool enough" to be hanging out with. Mines only ten, I have a few more good years with her! :-) we just did Catalina, I have a vid posted.
