Except the dog can't initiate a stop himself, so if he has an issue and needs to stop gracefully he cannot because the momentum of the weight is far greater than himself.

@msbreeden GREAT IDEA, LOVE THE WAY YOU PROTECT THE DOG. But, have you considered putting something like "rough wear" boots? On hot days, the dog WILL burn it's pads--sooner or later--and they will also "slip" their pads (ouch) again, sooner or later. Dog boots look great, but more important, work great too.

this would be so easy to make homeade. I have a scooter with a large flat board to stick any pipe or even something cheap like a large would thing. It would not be difficult.
