At first it wasn't working. So i tried something different, as soon as the helicopter kills those guys at the window run (easiest difficulty) around the corner, walk by all the first guys and go to the door they are coming from, this way you will not allow them to come through the door but make sure you start cooking the grenade just after you get past the first three guys at the front of the room.

There is a place in the same mission where there are about like 8 people next to a car in some garrage thing, and you could just throw the grenade
