My second Fan fic.

CHAPTER TWO.

3 years later......

"Hello Hazel." Nicholas said sitting down next to Hazel.
"Nicholas." She replied with a sigh.
"I got the part." He said slowly.
"I'm very happy for you Nicholas." Hazel replied flatly.
"No you're not."
Hazel let out a long sigh. "Nicholas, I'm very happy for you. I'm always very happy for you."
"There's more."
"There always is." Hazel said, she wanted to add something like "What is it this time, you're missing out on another family holiday? You're moving? You're not ever going to see me again?" But she decided against it.
"Columbia."
"What..." Hazel asked. She was annoyed enough, she didn't need him to be 'Captain Cryptic'.
"Columbia records. They want to sign me."
"NO WAY NICKY!" Hazel shreiked. She flung her arms around her best friend. No amount of hurt or anger could stop her hapiness from leaking out. This was huge news.
He hugged her back.
"Oh and by the way Nicky." She added. "Happy tenth Birthday."
She tried to break free of his iron grip, but even at ten years old, he was strong.
After he let her go they sat down.
"How's Frankie?" Hazel asked. Baby Frankie was so adorable.
"Frankie is doing good. He still wakes me up though."
"Kevin and Joe?"
"Obsessed with Frankie. Well, Joe mostly. Ooh, Kevin has a new girlfriend."
"What's her name?"
"I can't say!" He said and he ran away.
"Nicholas Jonas..." Hazel warned. She chased after him.

4 years later.

"Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Hazel. Happy birthday to you!" Her family sang. As did the Jonas clan.
Nick, Joe and Kevin were slumped in their seats exhausted. That morning they had arrived home from promoting their debut CD 'It's About Time.' They probably wouldn't have been in the living room of the Fletcher family if it wasn't for Joe nagging to see Hazel again. Joe and Hazel had become almost as close as Nick and Hazel.
"Happy birthday Hazel." Kevin said patting her back.
"Yeah, happy birthday." Joe said hugging her tightly.
The brothers both looked at Nick expectantly, he just took a sip of his diet coke and waltzed over to where Frankie was colouring in.
"Hazel." Kevin said quickly.
"It's okay you guys." Hazel said, forcing herself to smile.
"No, it's not. You two are as close as they get. You can't forget a lifetime of friendship over something as stupid as a fight." Joe said quietly.
"It wasn't a stupid fight. Well, not the reaoson we were fighting. I told him "Just, stay out of my life, It's not like you'd be around any less. I probably wouldn't notice anyways." He's just doing what I asked."
"That was last year Hazel." Kevin said. "Can't you just..."
"No."
"Hazel..."
"No."
"Hazel..."
"Damn it Kevin. I don't care okay. I'm over it. You guys are never around. I'm more of a burden to you anyways. You always look so guilty when you tell me you wont be around. Like, I'm someone you have a responsibility for or something. Well, you don't. And if being friends with you guys means people end up feeling guilty or hurt or whatever, then I don't want to know."
"Hazel, you're fourteen years old. What do you know about all of this stuff?" Kevin asked storming off.
"Look," Joe said turning to Hazel. "I won't say anything because I think there's more to you and Nick than you're letting on. You and Nick are you and Nick, so whatever, but Kevin has a point..." With that he walked away.
"Well, why am I not surprised, even now the Jonas Brothers have turned their backs and walked away, in my own home. The symbolism is so ironic." Hazel muttered. She may not have been gifted with argumentative skills, but she was gifted with a brain.
She ran upstairs to her room. She'd apologize to Denise and Paul Snr. Later. But for now she just needed to escape. She couldn't deal with it all, and since her father walked out five months ago, she had developed a way of coping.
