  • I have always said that the word "kaffir" is to describe a tribe of people. The original meaning of the word is 'heathen', 'unbeliever' or 'infidel', from the Arabic 'kafir' and is still being used with this meaning by Muslims. The Arabic term Kafir is, however, also applied to white people or simply anyone who is not a Christian, Jew or Muslim or does not believe in the Abrahamic "One God". Try and explain this to a black person in Africa and you will be a racist.

  • u know... i heard of kaffirs all my life i never knew much abt them till recently i started researchin on them... We sri lankans ARE pretty ignorant wen it come to this kinda things... our education system NEED to kick it up a notch and make sure at least our kids in the future knows abt our diverse culture...

  • Well done ! I enojyed it very much. You keep your accent...:) if it is...it's pleasing to the ear.

  • What's with Natasha Udugama and her fake accent? Or did she live her life in America? Then obviously she would be making stupid statements like that...

  • did u know that there are over 50 named ethnic groups in Sri Lanka?

  • @TheSaltube : english meaning: A hug from Brazil to the community Kaffir. Congratulations for the video.

  • This is really cool! I lived in Sri Lanka for 23 years and totally was not aware of such a community. I wish they had more recognition cause they certainly have a lot to contribute to Sri Lanka's culture. Thanks for posting this.
