Vibrant costumes and unceasing, infectious rhythm are hallmarks of Toronto's Caribana Parade. The most well-known event of the Caribana Festival, the parade is just one more way that Toronto celebrates Caribbean culture for two weeks every summer

  • @jabmalassie WELL LET ME TELL YOU THAT IN THE CARIBBEAN YOU HAVE 3 HISPANIC ISLANDS IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT....THEY ARE CUBA, REPUBLICA DOMINICANA, AND PUERTO RICO... AND CARIBBEAN ISLAND WE DO SHARE ABOUT THE SAME FOOD, RICE, BEANS, MEAT ETC....

  • are similar. They have a history of slavery and colonialism. If you go back 500 to 600 years they are from the same tribes and families. Saying they have similar cultures is fairly accurate. There are differences but New York and Texas are different as well. I have said what am going to say we disagree.

  • They are classified as the same group. They play the same sports. Similar political system and foods.

    We are looking at a Caribbean cultural even right now on youtube! Not a Trinidadian or Jamaican or Guyanese cultural event yet these people as well as other Caribbean islands are represented in large numbers.

    Many of these Caribbean events were started by Jamaicans and featured Calypso which was the number one music in the Caribbean including Jamaica for the longest time. Their cultures ...

  • @jabmalassie Until some of these Hispanic countries acknowledge their African heritage, I'm going to continue to say that they are culturally different from W.I countries.

    So because people do not know the difference between W.I regions that means they are culturally similar? That is pure rubbish and ignorance on their part. People don't even both looking up these countries and as a result lump all of us into one big group. Why do you think all W.I get categorized as Jamaican? They dont learn
