HerStory making history is the project-umbrella under which the Women Department of the non-profit organization AJALIA operates.

We are dedicated to serving and empowering Moroccan women to fulfill the long waited for emancipation. We provide assistance and programs for women that improve their knowledge as well as their education, throughout strategic researches, comprehensive database and international network partnerships.

HerStory is making history:

We chose this motto for the JALIA's women department because we know that in order to look forward we need to look back on our History, search for those Women who helped shape our nation, recognize the doers, learn from past mistakes and set strategies for the upcoming changes.
In order to achieve such goal, we created a Moroccan Women Database where we are gathering information about Iconic Moroccan women. Such directory will help us keep our collective memory vivid, recognize those women who sat the path for us, design strategies around the available statistics...etc

Legal assistance both in issues regarding laws in Morocco and in the USA:

We believe that the luck of a proper explanation of the new Moroccan Family Code (Modawana) is the key issue behind the dead zone that we're witnessing in Morocco's women rights' panorama. As a response to the later we set as a goal to create the proper documentation, videos and training material to assist our women with the means to understand the changes in order to move forward.
Moroccan Women in the use do need more guidance and assistance when it comes to the US laws and legislations; we strive to provide them with the necessary help and all the assistance needed.

Education/training material, technical assistance:

We believe that women empowerment starts with a solid education and an adequate training, thus for we offer an E-library, E-learning section, a forum to answer questions...etc.

Political involvement:

The more Moroccan women involved in politics the more advocate we have to help us push the changes that we need for our emancipation. Politics is not an accessory to success any more...it's a necessity for our success. We are involved with several political organizations and programs sharing our knowledge and learning from there in order to benefit Moroccan women from other women's experience, education and programs.

Cultural awareness:

Moroccan women is known for being a proud ambassadress of her culture, we are a team of proud Moroccans who strive to spread a cultural awareness and help those who seek the same purpose to get the appropriate coverage.
