Think of Edward Scissorhands with a body made out of Jello. How would he not cut himself to pieces? Researchers have long asked that question about squid—-soft squishy creatures with hard, sharp beaks. As this ScienCentral News video explains, the answers could lead to a useful new class of materials.

  • Wasn't "Squid Beaks" an instrumental tune by Tower of Power?  During the organ solo break they all sang "squid - beaks" every two bars in unison.

  • The school is ok (rural high school, sport-orientated, what can you expect), but our science teachers are really into what they do. It's cool. :) Though, I've never smelled anything so... "memorable". ;)
