The seventh part of the series. This episode will feature less known pianists. These pianists are Dmitri Alexeev, Bernd Glemser, Konstantin Scherbakov and Siegfried Stogkigt.
The reason that there is a picture of a piano in Siegfried Stogkigt's performance is because there are no pictures of him available. Please rate and comment! Enjoy!

  • Hello, earthatic, could it be that you mean german pianist Siegfried Stöckigt, born 1929 ? (Not "Stogkigt") Look him up on Wikipedia. He was my mom's piano professor in Berlin...

  • @geigenmarie WOW! That's fantastic! Highly possible I made a mistake! ;)

  • @earthatic Just to make you jealous ;-) on thursday I will listen to Glemser playing Prokofiev 3rd Piano Concerto in Leipzig !!! (that's why I found your video: I looked for Glemser...)

  • @geigenmarie haha! You are very lucky! To make you jealous.... I once saw Martha Argerich perform Ravel's Piano Concerto in G! ;)

  • @earthatic You are right: I'm very lucky! As I am a professional violinist and played in various good orchestras since several years, I often get the opportunity to listen to great soloists !!! But Martha Argerich I hadn't the pleasure to meet yet...

  • @geigenmarie haha! That is very lucky! ;)

So which orchestra's do you play in? Under which conductors?

  • Dear Friend,Stogkigt did not perform Tchaïkowsky's 2nd piano Concerto, as announced, but Gershwin's Rhapsody in blue.....

  • I have never heard of these pianists, but their performances are very very good!

I thankyou so much for posting! It is a delight learning more about pianists!

  • Creo que la de Bernd Glemser es la más bella versión del 3º de Rachmaninov que he escuchado. Conjuga fuerza y un sonido poderoso con una musicalidad extraordinaria. ¡Gracias!

  • @chachooouuu Rachmaninov, 3rd concerto, 1st movement, cadenza.

  • I've heard a lot of Rach 3 recordings by all the top pianists, and, while most are very good, there's not one I would say is head and shoulders above the others. The sample recording here, by this Bernd Glemser chap, would definitely be the best I've heard though. Would love to get a complete recording

  • Hi everybody, I have never heard such good pianists. I'm looking for the piece which is played to 5:22. Someone can help me please ?

  • Wow, what powerful performances . . .the Rach 3, of course, standing tall .

  • omg the cadenza from Glemser from the Rachmaninoff concerto is just so amazing!!

never heard such a breathtaking cadenza on a studio recording...i'm so proud ofmy teacher!!:))

  • @passerabianca agreed-- the glemser performance is wonderful

  • from 8:10, its Greshwen Rhapsody in Blue!!!!! not Tchaykovisky!
