ICT and Rural Areas: Building the Knowledge Society at Grassroots Level

The European Network for Rural Development (EN RD) organised the seminar - " ICT and rural areas: building the knowledge society at grassroots level " on 10 February, 2011, in Brussels. The objectives of the seminar were to review of current ICT needs of agriculture, food industry and rural areas, in the light of thev new Digital Agenda for Europe and the EU Broadband Strategy; to share experiences of rural development policy implementation in relation to this field. The seminar also provided a useful platform for discussing ideas for the future of the rural development policy as regards the "post-2013" discussions.
