Thanks for the info. I dropped my cat off at the vet. My cat is only 3 years old. He tested negative for all cancers and aids. They narrowed it down to the fatty build up in the liver ( forget the medical term). When all said and done I will be spending a about $3000 and will be feeding him through a tube for up to 3 months. He's a good cat an my kids love him. i figure we can get 10 more years out of him.
@cuwsteve My cat was hospitalized for about 2 weeks and she recovered. They plugged a solute on her paw to re-hydratate her. I think they also gave a me dicine like a pill or something I can't tell you exactly what I don't remember. They gave her special food but she wasn't eating it so we were bringing our own food to feed her everyday. She had a little chance to live. If your cat has jaundice, it can't resolve it itself. I suggest you to see immediatly a vet

So, your cat was hospitalized for 3 weeks and she recovered? My cat has the same issue. How long was it before she fully recovered? What treatments did the vet give?
Thanks,
STW

@cuwsteve The more you go see the vet fast, the more your cat has chances to live. Our cat couldn't walk anymore, no more reflex signals, she was really in bad condittions and we were sure that she was about to die. But we decided to give her a chance and we paid the whole bill. I think it's important during the treatment to also to give love to the cat, and make it feel secure by your presence at the vet, like doing visits. I think that's what saved mine too, she was really happy seeing me

@cuwsteve On jaundice, the cat can't drink anymore and that's why you need to plug your cat to a solute for as long as it's necessary. Good luck :-)

@cuwsteve Even if you force your cat with a ''needle'' ( sorry for my english ) it's not gonna change anything, your cat needs to be plugged anyways

@cuwsteve Wow I admirate what you did. IS your cat is plugged on solute also? Is he dehydrated?
