@plectrum34 Incidentally, I searched for that Space Age Cracker Jack commercial. But it doesn't appear to be uploaded anywhere online.
I may have saved it to the hard drive of my old computer, or have it on a DVD collection of vintage TV commercials. If I have it, and ever find it, I'll send you a message to your You Tube inbox.
And if you find it first, please do likewise for me.
@plectrum34 Yes, my favorite one too, along with the first one I saw, where Jack Gilford plays a guy working at a snack bar on a boardwalk, and this young boy tries to pay for his Cracker Jacks with a marble and some other "tradeable commodities," because he didn't have enough change.
But that commercial set in the space capsule was terrific, the Cracker Jack box kept eluding our Cracker Jack Gilford, the astronaut, on account of zero gravity.
How about the commercial when he's on a train and standing between 2 compartments with the passengers passing a cracker jack box to each other? Remember when they snapped their fingers twice to signal each other?
Love this commercial!! His daughter Lisa has responded to someone who posted one of Jack's classic commercials with really disgusting voice-over... actually trying to pass it off as a 'banned commercial'!
Jack Gilford...the super charmer! BTW, for an opposite view of histypical nice guy persona, see the film Save the Tiger, starring himself and Jack Lemmon.
I don't know why that's such an affecting commercial. I guess it's the fond memory of being a kid. As for me, I remember the Cracker Jack commercials from when I was a kid. This one is nearly the best. And Jack Gilford was a great character actor. Thanks for posting this, nishiot.

You would think the director would have shouted:
"CUT! WILL SOMEBODY GET THAT CHUNK OF
FRIGGIN' DANDRUFF OFF JACK'S EYEBROW!"
