for a guy in his mid 30's and after having watched tons of romantic movies. This one has touched me the most.

@MegaMelissap Thanks for understand the situation, I'am in it right know, letting him go was the hardest thing I ever had to do.
-
I know how that feels like, I have felt that pain, cried those tears, letting my "Robert" go has been the hardest thing I ever had to do.

@jingle1453 You totally miss the point of the movie, you don't get to choose who you fall in love with, it happens. She could have taken the easy way out and she didn't. I am in the same situation, and believe me i have tried to comunicate with my husband for many years only to get dissmised and rejected. Then he came along, i did not look for it it just happend. letting him go has been the hardest thing i ever had to do and I did it for my children.

"I gave Lucy his photography book, if you're are interested, take a look. If my words still leaves some things unclear, perhaps his pictures can illuminate, after all, that's what an artist does best. I love you both with all my heart. Do what you have to, to be happy in this life, there is so much beauty. Go well my children." (Throwing ashes off the bridge) Those words, and that, made me cry. :'(

Jeesh! Did Robert know her husband was deceased when he sent all that? If not that could have caused some problems there. :/

@MegaMelissap Sometimes happy endings are sticking by your children. Loving them more than life, more than yourself, or any man. And they'll know it and respect that more than anyone could, and it gives them family values. And they'll stand by your grand children, because of it. Not running off on infatuation.

this is the best scene of the movie i just love it
-
Meryl Streep you are worse than Barbara Walters; always making people cry. And shame on Clint Eastwood too: Rowdy Yates made you cry from punches, Dirty Harry did it with just the sight of his gun. How did those men turn into Robert Kincaid and Frankie Dunn?

souvenir heureux avec laurence dommage de l issue de notre histoire
-
no one should ever have to go through what robert and francesca went through....you only have one life to live and you should live it....
I PRAY FOR ALL TO HAVE HAPPY ENDINGS...
Can you imagine this movie now? It'd end like this:
Francesca: Robert Kincaid has friended you on facebook and needs 10 ducks on Farmtown? Will you help Robert out?

A very touching story. I had a similar experience- almost cried as I remember it. Priorities do lead one to make painful choices.
