The top secret government files of a purple alien, Prometheus, teaching the slightly slow caveman, Bob, are easily among the best science fiction comedy shorts in claymation history. According to the announcer, these tapes were recorded over 900,000 years ago by an alien using a remote controlled camera.
These 40 episode claymation shorts aired in 1996 on Nickelodeon's Kablam segment. All of the shorts have Prometheus teaching Bob to do the simplest things such as, dress, use the restroom, build a shelter and survive. Every episode usually ends with Prometheus getting hit in the head with something. But it's Bob's sweet nature and Prometheus' never-tiring patience (especially when Bob knocks him unconscious and he and the monkey take Prometheus' clothes) that makes these shorts truly memorable.
Prometheus is an intergalactic alien who is convinced that there is intelligent life on Earth. But when he arrives, the only man he can find is Bob, an undeveloped pre-historic caveman & a monkey that keeps getting in the way.
The complete 40 episode Claymation shorts aired in 1996.
