I remember Mr Potter and Mr Allday. in 1977 two aussei worked as projectionists in London. I worked at the Moulin Classic in Little Windmill st and my mate Phill worked at the Plaza.... I was very envious about the Plaza portholes, considering we used rear projection haha.
The Two Philips DP75's ended up at the FACT Cinema in Liverpool.
I was able to secure the Philips DP70 from Plaza 2 and is in fulll working order, the other DP70 is in storage at the National Media Museum in Bradford.
This takes me back...I worked at the Plaza as a doorman, then eventually manager between 79/81.
I cannot remember much about the projection boxes, but I remember Bill Potter, the chief projectionist, and his partner Tom Allday.
David Hurrell was the manager, and Chris Green was general manager based in the Empire.
Barbara of course I remember from various cinemas in the West End, starting with Odeon Haymarket and moving round quite a bit eventually ending up at the Empire.

What happened to the Phillips DP70 projectors and the Dolby CP? The DP70 won an academy award for scientific excellence.
