Syracuse University's John Butler, Jordan Davis and Kyle Heath talk to the Post-Standard's Amber Smith about trying to beat the 4-minute mile in running. Although Roger Bannister beat the near-mythical barrier in 1954, it is still a goal many elite runners strive for. The trio will get their first shot in late January, when the SU Track & Field team begins its season. Visit http://www.syracuse.com for more news and multimedia.
Jordan Davis ran xc at Alderson-Broaddus before he left for Auburn I believe. I went to A-B on a track/xc scholarship the year after he left. I heard some pretty funny stories about him.

@NgTuCkEr64360 After some annoying math, I found out that that's 400 meters short of 1 mile. 4:45 for 1200 meters is about 1:40 for each lap of a track (400m). Assuming you could keep that pace for another lap, you'd be running a 6:20ish mile. For a 14 year old, who by the sound of it isn't a runner, that's pretty good. I'm 16, and run a 4:46 mile as of 2 months ago (haven't ran just a mile since, my XC season is still going on). For the indoor track season, I'm hoping to get into the 4:30's.
