  • Look at the crowd all sitting in their lawn chairs. The Yardbirds deserve better than that. The Yardbirds always will be the greatest band in the 60s. This crowd should jumping and on their feet because they are in front of one of the greatest band in the world.

  • I feel this is just so slightly 'wooden' and lacking in that certain something needed to create that spine tingling bluesy emotion (mojo?). A great British name nonetheless giving it their best shot.. If I'm not mistaken the guy playing the red Strat (Gypie Mayo) used to be called John Cawthra(?) when I knew him many years ago playing the bars and clubs of Essex, UK..... Where did 'Gypie' and 'Mayo' come from John ??

  • wow I say who was lookin out the bloody window.

  • The Yardbirds.......or their grandads maybe ?

A neutered version of a great song.

Compare to Cream's Farewell concert version 1968, its got balls.

  • @Yardbirdsfan

  • nope, jack white does.

  • Thank God for wikipedia. ....

Thanks jrg45721. Like many bands this version of a great British institution has long passed it's sell by date. It just sounds and looks like the guys are going through the motions.. Although the lack of energy from the sparse burger eating crowd can't of helped. The guys would be more at home in a hot sweaty blues club.... As Chuck Berry use to say this is 'bloooos' (in mock soft southern English accent) rather than 'BLOOOOZE' (deep southern US drawl..).

  • Gypie Mayo (born John Phillip Cawthra, 24 July 1951, Hammersmith, London, England[1]) is an English guitarist, playing in Dr. Feelgood from 1977 to 1981, and from 1996 to 2004 in the re-born The Yardbirds with Alan Glen.

Mayo was relatively unknown until he replaced Wilko Johnson in Dr Feelgood, He was 1st known as John Mayo
