  • absoulutely vicious burn the house down performance of an epic Jam tune-** to the young kids who plan to start a band- this is how its done!!! Weller may be some old codger now but back in the day he and the Jam "meant it"!!! I suggest every 17 year old with a guitar and a dream to pick up a Jam album

  • What show was this from?

  • The drum beat to this is fucking amazing, with that playing behind you, you could fight and win many a war.

The jam drummer pisses alover Ringo Starr, Ringo did one good beat (Strawberry Fields) and thats it, he was just a little faggot with a silly group.

    Fucking brilliant!!

  • @pantera2716 I had to give up trying to cover Jam songs. Always found myself doing a terrible cockney Weller impression without realizing... Hilarious!!!. I guess that's the power of the band. All the best fella.

  • @APublicDomain My appologies no insult intended. I'm a huge Jam fan and have been since back in the day & saw them play live once, (can't remember what year it was as many moons have passed). I'm also a musician (guitar, keyboard) and play a few Jam tracks in a 70s/80s tribute band and assumed they were using playback on that track. I stand corrected and impressed.

    R'gards

  • @pantera2716 There's NO backing track. I know this song and band inside out, and this definitely live. So, the fact you think there is one only proves my point. Bit of an insult to The Jam though, who were widely regarded as one of the best live bands around at the time, some would say of all time. Just a great band with a great 'Front of House' engineer. No tricks.

  • BACKING TRACKS MAKE IT A BIT EASIER

  • I wonder if the beeb knew the lyrics contained a (shock horror) swear word. '...as I was standing by the edge I could see the faces of those who led pissing theirselves laughing'. They'd never have allowed it!

    Great track.

  • Great performance... Probably a tricky song to pull off live as a 3 piece, but it sounds really full and full on. Odd to think now that this was classed as 'pop/singles chart music at the time... It's got so much bite, passion and menace I'm not sure it would make inside the cultural watershed these days.

Great post btw... Never seen this before. Ta V much indeed.

  • I loved ABC. I mean back in 1981...
