Some clips from a fire watch tower, Flag Point. This has shots of Mt Hood. This tower is way out, it takes forever to get there. Still in service too.

You are all the super privileged of what is unfortunately another era. An empire in decline cannot support the "bones" of its infrastructure and so pays the price and slides into history. These jobs wont exist in the future but if you can work a register at a Seven 11 then you can eat. The new America.

Ive worked on 3 fire lookouts in Washington state. Littlebald, Tyee, and Sugarloaf. This was in the 1970's. Best summers of my life.

Good footage... I haven't been there since 2004, and was nice to see it again. I worked it for fire in 2004 (and 2002 -weekend relief). The pica's are fun to watch, and the deer will come and lick the stump between the tower and rock pile.
