One of the test runs of KOLT, a 150 pound autonomous robot quadruped modelled after a goat, in Professor Ken Waldron's Robotic Locomotion Laboratory (Stanford University). The trot speed is roughly 1.7m/s. We first nudge the machine to maintain position; it then proceeds to control its speed and position by itself. The research goal is a 5-7m/s gallop.
