  • Hey, was wondering. During your last approach (on base leg) looked like a "ton" of homes (probably new) that you were crusing over; bet the folks really like that! Wonder if a Right Pattern has been discussed for a Non-precision approach like you made. Also, man those trees looked fairly close down final; was that an optical illusion? Thanks, m.d. virginia

  • Even newer homes being built on the 17 end of the runway -- this video, landed 35. Due to a large reservoir attracting new homes and unfortunately a right hand pattern won't fix noise problems. Trees are that close, makes one really pay attention at night for the threshold green lights to stay green and not "blink"!

  • Cool video.. my primary comment would be to try and add other action going on for context. For example as you capture the localized focus on the VOR indicator for a few seconds and spend more time with the camera looking out the front of the plane. Yes I know we'll see the prop but we spend too much time looking out the side ride in airliners. I want to see out the front. :<)

Of course coming from a IR rated pilot who almost never gets to see IMC I'm just jealous.

  • I absolutely agree with your comments, but unfortunately (or fortunately for me) somebody needs to tend to flying the plane, and I took that honor. I do have several videos on my channel that I had a passenger do exactly what you suggest. JAN ILS is one, a couple to HKS.

Of course when I am by myself, camera is least priority since it doesn't keep the plane upright.

  • Maybe you need to come up with a headset mounted camera so we can keep up with wherever you are looking. :<) That would be kinda cool.

Ever make it out West towards the Rocky Mountains.. I'm in Denver..

  • Hmm, bet that could be done :-) Headset or hat CAM LOL

Need some mountain flying lessons before coming out your way :-))
