At best theistic religion as a concept is useless because it has no grounding in reality. All of the positive things achieved by organized religion (community spirit, sense of self-worth, helping the needy, etc.) can be much more easily and effectively achieved via secular means without all the supernatural baggage. Religion may have been relevant and even necessary in the past but that is no longer the case. Now it's nothing but a pointless waste of time and resources better spent elsewhere.
