i should have been more specific, i meant the formulaic melodeath riffs (which were formulated by at the gates and in flames, maybe a little dark tranquillity in there as well.) but yeah in flames definitely helped pioneer this shit (at the gates came a little bit before them) and i would give in flames the title of creators of modern melodeath as well (reroute to remain starting that trend.) anyways, i'm not sure how i got to this place in the convo so im done haha.
