More footage around Tonbridge station and shed in the 1950's. Plenty of the inevitable H class tanks on Push-Pull workings, a bevvy of Bulleid Q1 0-6-0s, the ubiqitious Maunsell Moguls and mighty Bulleid Pacifics all put in an appearance. The clip ends with a pair of contrasting 4-4-0s, an ex-South Eastern & Chatham Railway D1 No.31487 and and an ex-Southern Railway Schools (V Class), in this case No.30929 'Malvern'.

  • That's how it was in those days. I'm not condoning unsafe working practices but the health and bloody safety has evolved into a lucrative industry more concerned with perpetuating its own existence than in mediating danger in the workplace.

  • love the fireman in the schools tender, oh how health and safety would have a fit. he didnt hurt himself
