A short tribute film on Gwen Frostic, the legendary Michigan artist who died on April 25, 2001 — the day before her 95th birthday. Frostic was owner and president of a multi-million publishing company in Benzonia, Michigan. As a child, she contracted polio and it affected her walk and her speech. But it never affected her ability to create intricate designs faithful to nature. She continued to work until days before died. The interview with Frostic that I did for this film was done six months before her death. This film is narrated by my friend Huel Perkins. A film by Steve Palackdharry.

Those discovering her books for the first time find her hand-crafted artistry a revelation. When I picked up "For Those Who See..." from a second-hand bookstore, I was startled by the treasure I found within its covers. Frostig channels nature, each unique page by page, for all of us. Her press has just been closed by the bank, I read on her website. May her work be preserved!
Steve Palackdharry and his wife are both vultures. I had a depressing period in life - Steve caught wind - his wife lied. They offered hope - but when I didn't want to be in a new documentary - they both became mean. Steve, and your wife - Mammatha - you are evil people.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Frostic in 1988 when I was in 4th grade. My teacher took us to the shop as part of a field trip and Ms. Frostic happened to be there and spoke to our class about her life and her passion for art and nature. I still have the book I purchased that day- I will never forget her or her love of life.
