I got an 02 yamaha yz125 so I'm lucky that I can ride all year round but summer riding sucks.

It's the California way of making life harder for dirtbikers. The total number of dirtbikes of all types both old and new is not enough to create any real pollution issues. It's all about the left wingers and Sierra club types telling their lies and buying lawmakers cooperation in their evil crusades against off roaders. That's one of the main reasons I moved out of the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia.

You should be able to find a 2008 250xcf-w for about $6,500 now. I paid more since I got it earlier in the year. There will be a big difference between the ttr230 and the ktm. I think the ttr has about 20 hp and the ktm is about 35. Even compared to a crf250x or wr250, the ktm is more race ready. You kinda get more with the increased price. There is not much difference between xcf and xcf-w besides the trans. ratios are different, wide versus short, minor susp. diff, and little things.

Oh, and even though both models are similar, the xcf-w is more trail oriented. xcf-w = green sticker, xcf = red sticker.

what is the difference between green and red sticker?

In California green sticker registration means you can ride year long at a state park. Red sticker means can only ride in the winter. It is Calif. way of controlling emissions and pollution.

sweet place! by the way, what helmet cam are you using?
panchogza 3 years ago
Yeah it's a pretty cool place, I'm lucky to live near it. The camera is actually my digital camera (canon SD400) that I mounted to my helmet using its tripod mount. I know its rigged up, but it works. I just bought a gopro helmet cam though.
