The first wrist pin failure was not repaired properly. The pin was installed on the opposite side and failed again in 18 hours. The vendor stood behind his work and covered the second repair.

  • You were lucky to have caught this before there was major damage to the unit. Years ago in the Rangely field, I came across a pump in the shallow field areas that had thrown a sampson arm pin during the night and kept trying to pump the oil. It was a very old pump, and by the time someone discovered it and got it stopped, the walking beam looked like a wash cloth somebody has wrung out.
