A rare daylight sighting of a Florida Panther was captured on video at Audubon's Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Naples, Florida as it took a morning stroll on the sanctuary boardwalk. Panthers, typically shy and nocturnal, are rarely seen and prefer to avoid people. The video was shot on the morning of May 12 at 8:15 a.m. as the panther walked from the pine flatwood across a prairie and into the cypress forest. Corkscrew volunteers Dick Brewer and Phil Nye saw the cat ahead of them on the boardwalk, and Brewer shot the video. The panther continued on the boardwalk for almost a half mile before finally jumping off and disappearing.

  • OK, lets get something straight!!!

Hunters do not cause any harm to the Florida panther!.

They are a protected species that the dollars that hunters and fisherman pay in with the license and tax to pay for reintroduction and protection.

They were killed off because of car related incidences and human encroachment on their home territories.

I am a hunter and i would turn in anyone who would harm a protected species as would 99% of hunters in america.

  • BEAUTIFUL !The Florida panthers are making a cum-back! Save the big cats!

  • where is corkscrew? hope they make it.

  • Awesome video.

  • @WolfLover0208 no hunter would ever harm a panther, no hunter has ever harmed one in the first place, 99 percent of panthers are killed by vehicle realted accidents, so you and your communist development buddys can all stfu and go screw some birds

  • i agree with you weaselfur1...tho my own thoughts on hunting are mixed...i am pleased that you have the integrity to have some respect for wild animals and frankly I believe you speak for the majority of hunters in florida at least....and having had the luck to see a fl panther in the wild myself in the early 80's (in cooper city no less!) i can personally attest to the fact that they are marvelous creatures!

  • it does look thin, possibly sick.

  • awful skinny, really should be about 70 lbs heavier.

  • Awesome cat 5/5
