Two weeks ago, I was sitting on the couch, watching other people run. Today, I'm finishing up week 2 of the Jim Galloway Run-Walk-Run program that should get me from zero to hero in the half-marathon in another 17 weeks. I hate running, I'm old, out of shape, have chronic problems from old injuries, and I'm doing it, so what's your excuse?

Note: The title and description have been updated because I made it to a half marathon distance in 19 weeks instead of my original goal of 25 weeks! This is because after a few weeks on Jeff's program, I set my sights a bit higher - to go the full marathon distance - which changed up my training.

    Current plan is for jan 14 kickoff.

    We are in San Diego, so the weather is great.

    What is your target event?

    Keep up the good work! I just ran 50k today using 4:1 in 5 hrs.

    Longest run of my life, and i later walked my dogs for 5 miles.

    RWR really works! Tomorrow I hope to still be able to walk

    Up and down the stairs. Fingers crossed.

  • @cichlidiotic Same weekend as the Louisiana Marathon, so I guess Jeff probably won't make it to your kickoff.

    Target events are the Princess in Feb and the Newport Marathon in June.

  • Hi Derek. We are starting a Galloway program in San Diego and I would like to show some of your videos at the kickoff.
