Empty Arms Foundation co-founder Karla Roy appeared on Breakfast Television Winnipeg on October 21, 2011. In this clip she discusses the tragic loss of her son from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome earlier in the year as well as Empty Arms Foundation that she founded with her mother to raise fund for SIDS research. She also discuses the first event on October 23rd, 2011.
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is the number one cause of death in infants under one year of age. It affects three babies per week in Canada and six per day in the U.S. Latest research indicates a biological abnormality in the brainstems on SIDS infants. Empty Arms Foundation is dedicated to raising funds and awareness of SIDS so that one day we will be able to identify susceptible infants and prevent their tragic loss.
