In recent years Jimmy Barnes has been busy exploring his music roots and this week he's at it again, with his new album called The Rhythm and The Blues. It includes his favourite artists from the 50s and early 60s, including a sultry version of Nina Simone's 'My Baby Just Cares for Me'.
Jimmy Barnes has also been finding out about his personal roots of late, indeed last week he rang his mother to chat, and mentioned that he'd been asked to sing at a concert at Sydney's Central Synagogue. And that led to her revealing that his heritage, via his mother's line, was a Jewish one.
After all these years he's still as enthusiastic as a kid! Truly a national treasure.
