@ShazerThe By saying "when you mess with us" rather than "When you mess with me" the narrator of the song is representing a group - perhaphs society, as people are judged on small, insignificant and non-incriminating aspecs of thier personality and appearance.

I never understood the "hitler hairdo" part, but with this early lyrics I can now have an idea of what he ment. Also he says "this is what you get when you mess with me". I can now understand Karma Police a little better.
