Libertus is an Edinburgh charity which provides day services for older people and those with dementia. It also offers social, recreational and educational opportunities for young adults who are affected by a disability or have special needs.
Libertus involve a number of volunteers from various backgrounds and age groups in their projects and find them invaluable in helping to provide a high quality service.
As an organisation Libertus signed up to Investing in Volunteers (IiV) as a way of benchmarking their volunteers management, assessing that they were providing the correct support and meeting the needs of their volunteers.
When Libertus went through the IiV process their volunteers were given the opportunity to comment on Libertus' practices and if any improvements could be made and what they get out of it. Here, Dan Fuller discusses the process Libertus followed.
